Product Overview

ActiveAUDIT is designed to provide healthcare business office managers and registration/access managers with tools to measure and monitor performance and correct errors effortlessly. The auditing module of HealthWare Systems’ ActiveWARE product suite, ActiveAUDIT is designed specifically for users of our ActiveREG and ActiveEPF solutions. It automatically retrieves data aggregated by ActiveREG and ActiveEPF and allows users to leverage these tools to simplify the auditing and quality assurance procedures in patient access.

The ActiveAUDIT tool set enables users to identify current registration-based errors, allows for simple and easy corrections and permits managers to identify process issues which require revised procedures to prevent future problems. Designed for use in performance monitoring and training purposes or to identify and correct and process data errors, ActiveAUDIT saves times and reduces frustration by streamlining the quality assurance process for registration and access managers because users can see all relevant information immediately.

Features

Context-Sensitive Review

Context-sensitive review automates the display of source documents during the review process. Data elements captured in the host system through ActiveREG and stored in ActiveEPF are displayed side-by-side with the source document at the time the user is reviewing a data point. The system can enforce data types and input masks to automate several data integrity checks. In addition, the user reviewing admission information such as physician name, service type and diagnosis will automatically see the physician order, and the user reviewing demographics will see the driver’s license and insurance cards.

Selection Criteria

ActiveAUDIT users can select a group of accounts to audit, which allows them to focus on specific registrars, financial classes, patient types and other finite categories during the review process.

Efficiency Means Improved Detection

The efficiency of ActiveAUDIT allows your quality assurance staff to review a higher percentage of accounts, resulting in greater detection of errors earlier in the revenue cycle.

Transaction History

ActiveAUDIT maintains a complete history of HL7 transactions so that the reviewer can see the account as it existed at a specific time. This insures that the reviewer sees when and where errors were made in the process. Updates by users downstream are highlighted for the reviewer to alert them to data points that were altered. Another tab contains values currently stored in the HIS system, which allows reviewers to confirm values before accessing the HIS system directly from the ActiveAUDIT tool to make corrections.

Dynamic Host Interface

At any time, users can access the corresponding account in the host to review additional details or instantly correct identified errors.

Full Access to Electronic Patient Folder

Users can quickly access the entire electronic patient folder for review (based on user permissions), meaning users can check for an alternate documents that may contain important source information.

One Button Access to Key Documents

Special hot-key buttons can be created for specific document types. For instance, a single button can display the Face Sheet or Driver’s License/Insurance Card at any time during the QA review.

Intelligent Document Display

Multi-page documents automatically launch to display the key section of the document needed for review. For example, a three-page Notice of Patient Privacy displays the third page first because it contains the signature.

Reporting

Statistics for each audited registration can be grouped and reported according to specific criteria, allowing managers to quickly see trends and patterns and make adjustments accordingly.
