Physician Faxes Order

ActiveFAX for Physician Orders recognizes the caller-ID on the incoming fax and identifies the referring physician doctor or office. For group practices, a drop-down list is provided to select the specific doctor. As faxes are received, they are automatically queued for patient intake representatives to review for accuracy and completeness on their desktop computers.

Review Order

Review of the inbound fax is simple and secure. Captured as an electronic read-only document, the fax appears on one half of the computer screen, allowing the patient’s name and other key indices to be added as an identifier. For incomplete or inaccurate orders, the order can be rejected and faxed back immediately to the originator with a single click right from the computer. The registrar also is able to provide an explanation for the rejection on the cover page of the outbound fax.

Approve, Index and Route Order

Upon approval, the appropriate departments are notified of the new order and have the ability to access it electronically. If a patient account number is supplied, the order can be routed directly to the patient’s electronic patient folder right from the registrar’s computer. With ActiveFAX for Physician Orders, your registration team has a single point of access, enabling them to send and receive faxed physician orders at a central workstation while ensuring the electronic capture and management of critical orders.

ActiveFAX Broadcast

ActiveFAX maintains a physician database that a hospital can use to communicate directly and simultaneously to multiple physician offices. A document can be sent to the entire physician population using the fax broadcast interface.

Verbal Orders

ActiveFAX provides the ability to document verbal orders and initiate pre-registration activities prior to the receipt of the physical order.

Integration with Scheduling

ActiveFAX provides the receive schedule reports for phone appointments and to initiate pre-registration activities prior to the receipt of the corresponding physician order.

ActiveFAX for Home Health Support

ActiveFAX also can be used to accept incoming documents from home health workers. Similar to ActiveFAX for Physician Orders, faxed documents can be indexed and released to the appropriate electronic patient folder, achieving the result of a distributed document capture solution.

ActiveFAX for PFS

Also available for use in the business office, ActiveFAX can be used to manage communication between providers, payors and patients. The same controls and audit trail exist, providing HIPAA-controlled transmission (with automatic receipt verification) and receipt of faxes to and from your desktop PC.
