ActiveSCAN is our back office scanning solution designed to support any department in the hospital. Utilize high-speed, high-volume scanning devices to tackle your larger volume areas...or use multifunction devices for a shared workgroup solution. ActiveSCAN makes it possible to capture, index, and release any document to the information repository maintained by ActiveWARE. Integrate other departments through the use of our ActiveFOLDERS module. This module extends support to non-patient information areas such as Human Resources, Accounts/Payable, Materials Management, Physician Credentialing and others.
Each document processed by ActiveSCAN is identified by type and categorized within the electronic folders. This provides the ability to restrict access to documents based on content. It also allows our system to identify exceptions based on the absence or presence of specific documents and/or data elements.
Barcodes for patient and forms identification can be placed anywhere on the form and in any orientation. This flexibility eliminates the need to redesign forms to allocate space in a specific location for the patient barcode. Multiple barcodes can exist on a form and can be placed whereever space currently exists. The software supports industry standard symbologies including PDF-417.
Allows users to process single-sided and two-sided documents within the same batch. Blank pages (back sides of single-sided documents) are dropped automatically.
Utilizes batch separator sheets (or key document types) to identify the start of each batch. A single barcode appearing on any document, in any orientation, in any location, can be used to identify the entire batch.
As images are scanned, the system automatically straightens (deskews), and cleans (despeckles) the images it captures. Other advanced image processing routines can be activated as needed (i.e. 3-hole punch removal).
Although ActiveSCAN supports virtually any device, HealthWare recommends Fujitsu equipment to its healthcare customers. These devices have proven capable of standing up to the daily rigors of a healthcare environment and perform extremely well.
